The US Army has awarded a contract to wireless communications technology company TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) to upgrade its second existing X-band earth terminal in support of the Interoperability Command in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

The upgraded X-band earth terminal at the military base will enhance the terminal’s performance, increase capacity and expand the terminals capabilities.

The improved terminal will align the overall technological state with the first X-band terminal, which was upgraded by TCS in 2008.

The $1.8m contract has been awarded by the army’s Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) Technology Applications Office (TAO).
