The US Army has awarded a $40m contract to Cobham for the provision of its ROVIS digital vehicular intercom systems.

The ROVIS (AN/VIC-3) designed for use in heavy and medium vehicles is the primary command and control system in the US’s Abrams tank and Bradley armoured fighting vehicle.

The digital intercom system features a crew station that enables full user selection of working and monitor radios.

The system connects up to six users and incorporates an alphanumeric display for setup and fault reporting.

Additionally the system features alarm inputs for vehicle and other warning systems and programmable access control for individual users.

Deliveries are scheduled to be complete by the end of first quarter of 2010.
