Rheinmetall Nitrochemie, a subsidiary of Rheinmetall Group, will provide propellant systems and powder to British armed forces under a €200m ten-year contract.

Under the contract Rheinmetall Nitrochemie will serve as subcontractor to Britain’s BAE Systems under the munitions acquisition supply solution (MASS) framework to deliver high-quality ammunition to UK forces.

The deal is expected to create significant cost savings over the ten-year period for the munitions.

The company’s core competencies include the development and production of propellants and propelling charges for large, medium and small-calibre ammunition as well as combustible components such as the MCS modular propelling charge system for artillery applications.
