The Finnish Army has awarded a €17m contract to defence electronic company Elbit Systems for the provision of high-speed radio and data transmission communication systems.

Elbit Systems general manager Bezhalel Machlis said that the company hoped this contract would be followed by additional orders from both Finland as well as Nato countries and would further strengthen Elbit’s position as a leading supplier of innovative radio systems worldwide.

The comunications systems are part of an Elbit initiative, which seeks to integrate a system of command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I).

According to the company, C4I systems are expected to substantially improve the decision-making process, increasing survivability and lethality while decreasing manpower and resources to acheive maximum efficiency.
