The US Army has awarded two contracts totalling $26m to Oshkosh Defense to deliver 100 heavy expanded mobility tactical truck (HEMTT) A2s.

Under the first order of $26m, the company will provide more than 100 HEMTT A2s configured with common bridge transporter (CBT) equipment.

The tactical trucks are an indispensable part of the US Army’s multirole bridge company and will support the army’s engineer corps by carrying all bridging assets like ribbon, improved ribbon and heavy dry support bridges.

The CBT is configured with a load-handling system that allows the soldiers to be in their place with all needed equipment.
