The South Korean Army has conducted an exercise to demonstrate combat readiness at sea in Taean, 143km east of Seoul.
One helicopter, 14 boats and over 100 special commandos have been made ready for activities in the two-week drill ending 14 August 2009.

As part of the drill, commandos landed on beaches, descended from helicopters into the sea and conducted boat exercises.
Battalion commander Song Chul said the maritime infiltration drill was aimed to prepare the soldiers to overcome complicated situations and to focus on maritime situational awareness.
