Northrop Grumman’s space and ISR systems division facility in Boulder, Colorado has joined the Raytheon-led team behind the US Army’s integrated battle command system (IBCS) programme .
Northrop Grumman will help evaluate the warfighter benefits of space-based data to the IBCS architecture.

Apart from Raytheon, team IBCS consists of General Dynamics, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Davidson Technologies, IBM, and Carlson Technologies and academic players too.
A preliminary design review for IBCS is expected in May 2009 and a single award for phase two of the programme is anticipated in late August 2009.
