DRS Technical Services has awarded Raytheon a contract potentially worth US$70m to provide infrastructure services for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Raytheon will design, develop, install and maintain state-of-the-art command and control, communications and computing facilities in Iraq.

The contract primarily covers operation and maintenance of existing facilities, engineering and installation of new services, network information assurance and logistics support services, Raytheon says.

The US$36.2m 2008 contract includes a 2009 option year worth US$33.4m.

Raytheon is providing subcontracting services to DRS as part of the Rapid Response contract from the army’s Communications and Electronics Command.
