The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has released a prequalification questionnaire to companies interested in building the utility-vehicle for its Future Rapid Effects System (FRES).
The ministry is yet to announce a design for the 8×8 vehicle.
The MoD has also awarded assessment-phase contracts for the FRES reconnaissance vehicle to BAE Systems’ CV90 and General Dynamics UK’s ASCOD.
FRES is Europe’s largest armoured vehicles project and is expected to cost up to £16bn.
