Harris has received an order to supply the US Department of Defense (DoD) with additional Falcon III multiband, multimission, software-defined radios that are compatible with Suite B encryption technology.

The $23m RF-310M HH radio order will provide the US DoD with simplified communications interoperability and information security handling in a range of ground-based applications.

The RF-310M-HH is the first and only tactical radio certified by the National Security Agency as compatible with Type-1, Suite B encryption.

The radio provides coverage of 30MHz-512MHz frequency range and addresses interoperability challenges during coalition and interagency operations.

The RF-310M uses the APCO P25 waveform, which provides interoperability with radios used by police and other emergency response organisations.
