Bulgaria may withdraw from the deal for the delivery of three multipurpose Panther helicopters due to the financial crunch.

In 2005, the country signed a €383m contract with French aircraft manufacturer Eurocopter for the purchase of 12 Cougar helicopters, which have already been delivered, and six Panther helicopters.

The government, however, said it may now purchase only three Panther helicopters due to lack of funds, according to the Standart News.

The negotiations between Eurocopter and the Bulgarian defence minister are expected to take place at the Paris Air Show 2011 being held from 20-26 June 2011.
