American Science and Engineering (AS&E) is to supply Nato with the highly mobile screening system, Z backscatter van (ZBV) X-ray screening system under a contract.
According to the company, Nato will integrate the ZBV system into its arsenal of AS&E cargo, vehicle, parcel, and personnel screening systems currently deployed at various checkpoints.
AS&E president and CEO Anthony R Fabiano said the ZBV system allows for immediate deployment in response to security threats and is a solution for Nato’s security applications.
“With the addition of the ZBV system, Nato will use AS&E’s full range of inspection products to heighten the detection capability at their strategic checkpoints,” said Fabiano.
The Nato Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) is the contracting activity.
