Harris Corporation has received an order from the US Army to provide Falcon II high-frequency AN/VRC-104(V)(3) radio systems for installation on multiple variants of mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles (MRAPs).

Under the $19.9m order, Harris will provide the AN/VRC-104 integrated communications system that includes the Falcon II AN/PRC-150(C) high-frequency tactical radio.

The AN/PRC-150(C) delivers continuous type-1 terrestrial communications in the 1.6MHz-60MHz frequency range, with 150W of power in vehicular configurations.

The system’s beyond-line-of-site coverage enables the troops to remain connected with mission-critical information.

Harris RF Communications US Department of Defense business president Brendan O’Connell said the AN/PRC-104 would provide secure communications in tactical environments and for successful MRAP missions.
