Projectiondesign has been selected by Cassidian to provide 26 F32 projectors and multiple image processors for its Stinger missile training system.

The F32 projectors will be integrated with multiple image processors for display and will be automatically calibrated to adjust images on screen during soldier combat training.

The upgrade and retrofit to the training system comprises a 20m-wide dome projection system with a 340° field to create a realistic simulation and training environment.

The upgrade is expected to be completed in November 2011.

The Stinger missile is a shoulder-fired portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile, and is classified as a man-portable air-defence system.
