The Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) has received artillery weapons and ammunition from the People’s Republic of China at the Joint Forces Command Headquarters, Cockrill, Sierra Leone.

The artillery weapons and ammunition included AK-47 rifles, rocket grenade launchers, anti-aircraft guns and mortar, and a large quantity of ammunition.

A ten-member Chinese team also provided technical training to military officers to help enhance defensive capabilities of RSLAF to perform its mission and tasks, according to Awoko News.

The Chinese donation, which started in 1987, is in accord between the two countries, wherein China agreed to provide the RSLAF with equipment for establishing an artillery battery.
