Harris Corporation has received an order from the US Army to provide Falcon II AN/VRC-104 high-frequency vehicular radio systems for use in variants of mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles.

Under the $20.4m order, Harris will provide the AN/VRC-104 fully integrated, vehicular communications system that includes the Falcon II AN/PRC-150(C) high-frequency tactical radio.

The AN/PRC-150(C) delivers continuous type-1 terrestrial communications in the 1.6MHz-60MHz frequency range, with 150W of power in vehicular configurations.

The system’s beyond-line-of-site coverage enables the troops to remain connected with mission-critical information.

Harris RF Communications US department of defence business president Brendan O’Connell said the AN/PRC-150(C) is a critical component for armed forces operating in terrain obstructed geographical regions.
