Iranian Army has been equipped with a new cruise missile and missile defence system, Defence Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has said.
“Recently, we witnessed the test firing of the Shahin [Hawk] and Shalamcheh missiles, part of the country’s defence system, which were successfully tested and delivered to different army units,” Fars news agency quoted the Iranian minister as saying.
“These missiles can, together with other systems, substantially boost the country’s defence capabilities,” Vahidi said.
The Iranian minister was also quoted as saying that a large amount of anti-armour weaponry capable of aerial attacks was also handed over to the Islamic Revolution’s guard corps.
