Pakistan has successfully test-fired a new indigenous, short-range, surface-to-surface missile, the Hatf-9, at an undisclosed location.

The Hatf-9 missile, with a range of 60km, is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads with high accuracy.

The multi-tube ballistic missile system has been developed to deter emerging threats and increase Pakistan's short-range strategic weapons development programme, according to a statement from the Pakistani military.
