The HEMTT A4, the backbone of the US Army logistics fleet, is capable of recovering 50t vehicles as well as providing heavy-duty power and performance for challenging recovery missions.

Deliveries of the protection kits are scheduled to be completed in July 2011.

Oshkosh army programmes vice-president and general manager Mike Ivy said the new kits were to ensure that the vehicles meet threats that soldiers face in Afghanistan.
