Oshkosh Defense has received a $119m delivery order from the US Army TACOM Lifecycle Management Command (LCMC) for over 270 heavy equipment transporters (HET) A1 vehicles.
Oshkosh HET is designed for quick transportation of battle tanks, fighting and recovery vehicles, armoured vehicles and construction equipment in mission-ready condition.
The latest HET A1 configuration provides increased protection, horsepower, higher-capacity front suspension, standard air conditioning, electrical upgrades and improved diagnostics.
The vehicles are paired with the M1000 heavy-duty trailer to tow the M1A1/M1A2 Abram tank.
Production and delivery is scheduled to be completed in September 2012.
