US Forces Command has awarded a contract to Northrop to provide operations, planning, training and resource support services (OPTARSS II) for the US Army and to ensure overall mission success.

The OPTARSS II programme is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract and has a ceiling value of $2.5bn.

Northrop Technical Services corporate vice-president and president Tom Vice said OPTARSS II was crucial in quickly delivering innovative training solutions to defeat emerging and unconventional threats.

Northrop has been supporting the OPTARSS programme since 2003.
