US Army Awards Light Armoured Vehicles Contract to GD
The US Army TACOM lifecycle management command has awarded a $138m contract to General Dynamics Land Systems for 82 light armoured vehicles (LAVs). Under the contract, GD will produce LAV II version vehicles in four different variants for a foreign military sale (FMS). The LAV II
The LAV II version is a 300hp 8×8 vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 32,000lb.
The contract was signed through the Canadian Commercial Corporation, a Crown Agency of the Canadian Government, and deliveries of the vehicles will begin in January 2012.
