The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress of a possible sale of army tactical missile systems (ATACMS) and low-cost reduced-range practice rockets (LCRRPR) to the UAE.
The $140m package will include 100 ATACMSs, 60 LCRRPRs, associated equipment, training, and US Government and contractor technical, engineering and logistical support.
The proposed sale is part of the modernisation of UAE armed forces and the expansion of its existing army architecture to counter threats posed by potential attack.
Lockheed will be the prime contractor.
