Russia has signed a contract to deliver munitions for Sukhoi-family fighters to Indonesia at the Indo Defence 2010 Expo and Forum to be held in Jakarta.
Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport has signed a contract for Su fighters in service with the Indonesian armed forces, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation deputy director Mikhail Pukhov said.
Indonesian Defence Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said the country would continue buying arms from Russia in the future.
In 1999, Jakarta became one of the main arms buyers of Russia when the US imposed an arms embargo on the country over alleged human rights violations, according to RIA Novosti.
Indo Defence 2010 is a biennial arms fair with over 400 exhibitors from 38 countries participating until 13 November.
