The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress of a potential sale of army tactical missile systems (ATACMS) T2K unitary missiles and associated parts to Bahrain.
Under the $70m foreign military sale, Bahrain will receive 30 ATACMS T2K unitary missiles, missile common test device software, quality assurance team support, technical and engineering support.
ATACMS is a conventional surface-to-surface artillery weapon system with strike range beyond the existing army cannons, rockets and other missiles.
The potential sale will contribute to the Bahrain military’s goal of modernising its armed forces and expansion of its existing army architecture to counter major regional threats.
Lockheed will be the prime contractor.
