Under the contract, Leidos will support the US Army’s Communications-Electronics Command Software Engineering Center (SEC).

The company will provide post-deployment and post-production software sustainment using SecDevOps engineering practices that can enhance mission readiness and reduce cost.

Leidos will perform the sustainment of mission command, radars and other systems that are used to observe and coordinate army surface-to-surface fires.

The task order will cover all fielded versions of the US Army’s Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) fire support command and control (C2) system software.

The US Army and Marine Corps use the AFATDS system to provide automated support for planning, coordinating, controlling and executing fires and effects.

Leidos C4ISR Solutions senior vice-president Eric Freeman said: “This win complements our role as the lead developer for the next generation AFATDS 7.0 software and positions us as the prime contractor responsible for all army AFATDS systems and software engineering for the next several years.

“We’re proud the army continues to trust us for the sustainment of their critical software systems that help make the world safer.”

The company developed a portfolio management dashboard for the SEC’s Command, Control, and Communications Tactical (C3T) Directorate.

The dashboard tool is designed to provide portfolio level reports and graphics. This will provide programme management and engineers with a near real-time view of a complex organisation of mission command and fires software programmes.

Leidos will perform contracted work in Maryland and Oklahoma in the US.

In March, the firm won a US Army contract to provide aircraft logistics and maintenance in theatres of operations.
