General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has won a Defense Enterprise Office Solutions (DEOS) contract to streamline collaboration and information sharing across the US Defense Department (DoD).

The value of the DEOS Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) is estimated to be $4.4bn for a ten-year period, according to the DoD.

The company will replace the existing DoD IT office applications with a standard Cloud-based solution for unclassified (IL5) and classified (IL6) environments around the world.

This will update the DoD’s use of Cloud email and other collaborative tools. This will also be used to boost cybersecurity and information sharing across the enterprise.

GDIT will responsible for the accreditation of DEOS Cloud environments and for the support of the migration of current DoD Office 365 tenants into DEOS.

These environments are expected to aid DoD users and it will provide the users with engineering, migration, training and support services.

“The demand for DEOS capabilities have been further amplified by the Covid-19 crisis and more than ever, it’s imperative that we accelerate the deployment of technology to support our mission partners.”

The contract was awarded by the General Services Administration (GSA) in partnership with DoD and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

It includes a five-year base period and two two-year options. It also comes with an additional one-year option.
