Under the $100,000 sales order, the system will undergo an evaluation, with further additional deployments expected with the undisclosed customer.

Weighing 1.25kg, RadarZero is a rugged metamaterials-based radar, which is expected to enable effective detection and tracking of drones.

The RadarZero system was designed for deployment at airports and military bases to detect and track up to 20 small drones.

The system is capable of sending real-time information of drones through DroneShield’s platform.

Enabling intuitive user interface, DroneShieldComplete C2 system can detect drone threats.

DroneShield CEO Oleg Vornik said: “The importance of this sale is several-fold. First, this is our first order from this European military.

“Secondly, this is the first sale of a radar-only fixed-site system powered by DroneShieldComplete, demonstrating the modularity of our offering.

“DroneShield is both a sensor manufacturer and an integrator, with the customer having ability to add further sensor loads to the acquired system, which DroneShieldComplete supports.”

The sale is subject to pending relevant export approvals.

The latest order comes after the US Air Force (USAF) awarded a $200,000 ($279,722) contract for the export of DroneShield’s RadarZero portable anti-drone system.

In January, DroneShield’s US subsidiary announced its advancement from the US Army’s Phase II Expeditionary Technology Search (xTechSearch) programme to Phase III.

The programme seeks to allow selected private sector companies to partner with the service and help solve modernisation challenges.
