The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Tactical Technology Office (TTO) has awarded a new contract to Belcan’s Government Services segment for the delivery of support services to its office.
The five-year $204m prime indefinite-delivery indefinite-quality (IDIQ) multiple award contract will include task orders to provide technical, programmatic, financial, and administrative support services for TTO.
US-based Belcan is one of the five firms who will compete for the task orders. The current award is the fourth IDIQ contract received by the company from DARPA TTO.
Belcan Government Services Technical Advisory Services vice-president Denise Kellogg said: “We are excited and honoured to continue our work with DARPA TTO.
“Our team brings a wide range of technical expertise in science, technology, engineering, integration, and acquisition to support TTO’s mission to stay ahead of adversary and tactical surprises.”
Under the contract, Belcan will be responsible for providing risk and impact assessments of new technologies, development of system concepts, and justification for new programme implementation.
The company will also provide evaluation of benefits to military users, support of programme definition, financial analyses, and strategies for transition to the defence services.
Since 2006, Belcan company Schafer has been serving as the prime contractor for DARPA TTO, developing, evaluating, and characterising ideas for new programmes.
Belcan Government Services president Lee Shabe said: “Belcan’s rich history of six decades of engineering expertise coupled with Schafer’s superior technical advisory services allows us to provide DARPA TTO with cutting-edge support for new program concepts related to advanced weapon systems, advanced platforms, and advanced space systems.”
Located in Arlington, Virginia, US, DARPA TTO aims to provide and prevent strategic and tactical attacks with high-payoff, high-risk development and demonstration of revolutionary platforms in ground, maritime, air and space systems.
