
The US’s apparel industry registered a 2.9% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.6% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.27% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.43% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s apparel industry in September 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 81.69% in September 2021, registering a 7.45% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 6.63% share, an increase of 3.21% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 4.72%, registering a 7.74% decline from August 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 3.12%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 7.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s apparel industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Amazon posted 3,833 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 4.33% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 374 jobs and an 11.64% growth. Dollar Tree with 319 IT jobs and Apple with 240 jobs, recorded a 10533.33% flat growth and a 38.62% decrease, respectively, while CVS Health recorded a decline of 3.48% with 194 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.64%, down by 0.9% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 30.09% share, registered an increase of 18.18% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 20.93% share, up 5.77% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.33%, recording a month-on-month increase of 5%.
