The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.13% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 25.09% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 1.22% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 7.24% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Raytheon Technologies posted 2,029 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 18.9% over the previous month, followed by The Boeing with 1,598 jobs and a 13.48% drop. General Dynamics with 1,464 IT jobs and Leidos Holdings with 389 jobs, recorded a 149.4% flat growth and a 45.97% decrease, respectively, while L3Harris Technologies recorded a decline of 43.61% with 362 job postings during September 2021.
Mid Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 45.53%, down by 15.28% from August 2021. Junior Level positions with a 36.46% share, registered a decline of 13.39% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.56% share, down 11.19% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.44%, recording a month-on-month decline of 16.22%.
