Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 83.28% in October 2021, a 3.27% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 6.23% in October 2021, marking a 3.14% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 4.35% in October 2021, a 3.45% drop from September 2021.

Top five apparel companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 4.47% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s apparel industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Amazon posted 4,361 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 6.63% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 354 jobs and an 11.72% drop. CVS Health with 188 IT jobs and Lowe’s Companies with 112 jobs, recorded a 3.09% drop and a 22.76% drop, respectively, while Publix Super Markets recorded an 110.34% increase with 61 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s apparel industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 95.32% share in October 2021, a 0.15% increase over September 2021. Canada featured next with a 3.94% share, down 43.42% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.64% share, a drop of 5.13% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 45.94%, down by 2.74% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 34.11% share, registered a decline of 2.18% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 19.6% share, down 3.9% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.35%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
