India’s apparel industry registered a 5.5% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.11% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 20.1% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.55% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s apparel industry in September 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 81.15% in September 2021, registering a 21.92% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 8.44% share, a decrease of 36.17% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 6.75%, registering a 61.6% decline from August 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 2.25%, down 20% over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 34% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s apparel industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Amazon posted 311 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 7.44% over the previous month, followed by Robert Bosch with 146 jobs and a 9.88% drop. Danaher with 73 IT jobs and Reliance Industries with 46 jobs, recorded a 12.31% flat growth and a 68.28% decrease, respectively, while Walmart recorded a decline of 90.63% with 18 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.88%, down by 28.65% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.04% share, registered a decline of 26.75% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 21.66% share, down 29.68% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.42%, recording a month-on-month increase of 50%.
