India’s apparel industry registered a 10.8% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.68% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 33.91% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 1.2% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s apparel industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 76.3% in October 2021, registering a 41.46% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 10.98% share, a decrease of 24% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 6.94%, registering a 41.46% decline from September 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.34%, up 150% over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 38.2% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s apparel industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Amazon posted 268 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 44.86% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 31 jobs and a 72.22% growth. Target with 17 IT jobs and NIKE with 7 jobs, recorded a 41.67% flat growth and a 53.33% decrease, respectively, while Wesfarmers recorded an increase of 133.33% with 7 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.91%, down by 35.81% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 26.59% share, registered a decline of 46.82% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 18.5% share, down 25.58% over September 2021.
