September 2021 has seen a decrease of 0.36% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 29.91% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 0.5% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 68.84% in September 2021, a 1.12% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Research Scientists came in next, claiming a share of 15.09% in September 2021, marking a 54.44% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 7.82% in September 2021, a 30.77% drop from August 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 3.35% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry during September 2021 over previous month.
The Boeing posted 613 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 1.49% over the previous month, followed by Raytheon Technologies with 114 jobs and a 10.24% drop. Thales with 62 IT jobs and L3Harris Technologies with 37 jobs, recorded a 1.59% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Leidos Holdings recorded a 9.76% decline with 37 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 60.91% share in September 2021, a 2.77% decrease over August 2021. Australia featured next with a 33.44% share, up 57.95% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 2.61% share, a drop of 17.24% compared with August 2021.
Mid Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 51.57%, up by 4.17% from August 2021. Junior Level positions with a 37.57% share, registered a decline of 0.57% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.86% share, up 3.09% over August 2021.
