Cloud-based system for accessing user data across platforms
A recently granted patent (Publication Number: US11777761B2) describes a cloud-based system that allows user data to be accessed on any platform device within a platform. The system includes a cloud storage, at least one platform device, at least one measurement device and/or measurement site, and at least one user profile containing the user data. The user data includes information about the granted access of the measurement device to the measurement site, and the user profile is stored in the cloud storage.
To access the user profile, users must log in using a platform device and a measurement site, which generates a first code for the platform device. New measurement devices, measurement sites, or personal computers can only be associated with the user profile after authentication. The measurement devices can include oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, network analyzers, or signal generators, while the measurement site comprises a measurement instrument. The user profile and/or user data may include the current configuration of the measurement device and measurement site.
The system also includes a user secure access system for convenient login to the user profile, ensuring that all user data is available upon login. The first code generated by the measurement device identifies the respective measurement device and/or measurement site, while the platform device provides a second code for the measurement device upon unlocking a locking mechanism.
The platform includes a dashboard, preferably a user dashboard, where the user profile can be accessed. The user profile and/or user data may include settings, waveforms, and test scripts related to the measurement device and/or measurement site.
The system ensures secure access to the user profile by using a locking mechanism on the platform device, such as a password-based or fingerprint-based mechanism. The first code can be an optical code, and the transmission of the second code can be based on wireless communication.
In the case that a certain measurement device is part of a certain measurement site, all devices within the site have access to the user data once one device is granted access. The system may prompt the user to confirm if all other devices in the measurement site should have access to the user data.
In addition to the system, the patent also describes a method for handling the cloud-based system, which involves providing a user profile with user data, saving it in the cloud storage, and generating a first code for the platform device using the measurement site. The method also includes associating new measurement devices, measurement sites, or personal computers with the user profile only after authentication.
