On the occasion of DSEI Defense & Security Exhibition, London, SFC Energy, technology and market leader for portable, mobile, and off-grid power generation and distribution, introduces the pre-series version of the new portable JENNY 1200 fuel cell generator.

JENNY 1200 has been designed and matured in the context of the U.S. Air Force award placed in December 2012 to qualify a production ready 50 Watt fuel cell power generator. It builds on the mature platform of the successful portable JENNY 600S fuel cell generator and is based on SFC Energy’s award winning DMFC fuel cell technology for defense and security applications. In the JENNY 1200 SFC has again achieved a power increase of double the performance over the previous model JENNY 600S, while maintaining its convenient, easy to carry small size and form (size increase approx. one third).

The new 50 Watt portable fuel cell generator features significantly faster battery charging in the field. Unlike other miniaturized fuel cell generators, JENNY 1200 comes with a targeted lifetime of 2,500 hours – completely maintenance free. As a result, users benefit from stronger performance, shorter charging times, higher energy density, and reduced cost.

The new fuel cell generator uses pure methanol, available in four convenient fuel cartridge sizes, thus offering market-leading energy density and enormous weight savings over fuel cell generator technologies with a conventional methanol/water blend.

Like all SFC Energy’s power generation and distribution products for defense applications JENNY 1200 integrates seamlessly into the existing SFC defense product family and into all SFC energy networks and power solutions.

Pre-series models are immediately available to defense organizations for evaluation and tests in a broad variety of defense scenarios.
"JENNY 1200 is the latest innovation in our strong defense portfolio", says Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy. "It offers ultimate performance in miniaturized format with high reliability and excellent energy density, thus enabling longer mission times and ultimate power availability anywhere anytime."

SFC Energy exhibits the new JENNY 1200 pre-series model at DSEI London, September 10 to 13, in the German Pavilion, on booth S6-279. Additional information on SFC Energy’s off grid power and distribution portfolio for portable, mobile, stationary and vehicle-based defense applications at
