The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) has extended its contract with Systematic to continue to provide expert support to the UK’s involvement in the Multilateral Interoperability Programme (MIP).
The £1.25m (approx €1.5m / $1.9m) contract, which has been running since November 2009, now sees Systematic providing maintenance for the UK MIP gateway through to 30 June 2012, the delivery of capability for a bilateral US-UK military interoperability exercise (‘Ex TALON STRIKE’) in 2010, support to a UK-French military exercise (‘Ex FLANDERS’) planned for June 2011, and continued technical support for the UK’s membership and contribution to MIP standardisation working groups and MIP test events.
Over the past eight years, Systematic has delivered its SitaWareTM commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, IRISTM integration software and specialist advice to the MOD which has successfully enabled interoperability between the British forces’ command and control systems and MIP-enabled coalition allies.
Garry Annetts, MOD MIP programme manager, said: “This now enables the British forces to exchange data with our coalition allies, thanks to the help of Systematic. We continue to work together towards operationally deploying this capability.”
Systematic is currently supporting the UK MOD at the MIP working groups in Greding, Germany.
