TSS International BV, a leading provider of advanced defence solutions, and SKYDEX® Technologies, Inc., a pioneer in innovative impact mitigation technology, today announced successful results from extensive armed forces user trials of the SKYDEX IsoFit® Helmet Protection System.

Conducted in both extreme heat and cold environments, the rigorous trials confirmed the system’s ability to deliver superior heat management, comfort, and helmet stability, even when integrated with essential communications gear.

“Feedback from these user trials underscores the unmatched performance of the  SKYDEX IsoFit Helmet Protection Systems,” said Louis Huijzen, Managing Director,  at TSS International BV. Alvaro Vaselli, president & CEO at SKYDEX, added: “This system  directly addresses the critical need for comfort, stability, and adaptability in combat helmets, enabling armed forces personnel to stay focused and effective in any condition.”

Trial Highlights:

  • Superior Heat Management: Users reported significant improvements in thermal regulation, reducing heat build-up in hot environments while maintaining warmth in cold conditions.
  • Enhanced Comfort: Users consistently reported a significant increase in comfort during prolonged wear, reducing fatigue and enhancing operational endurance.
  • Exceptional Stability: The system provided exceptional helmet stability, preventing distracting movement during dynamic operations.
  • Seamless Integration with Communications Gear: The design of the system allowed for full functionality and comfort even when helmets were equipped with various communication devices.
  • Performance in Extreme Conditions: The system maintained its integrity, comfort, and heat management capabilities in both scorching desert heat and freezing arctic cold, proving its versatility and reliability across diverse operational theatres.

TSS International BV, SKYDEX’s European distributor, supported the trials and is coordinating independent scientific validation of the system’s protection performance according to European standards. In addition, TSS maintains stock in Europe, ensuring faster delivery times and reliable availability for customers across the region.

The SKYDEX IsoFit Helmet Protection System is engineered with proprietary SKYDEX impact protection materials and the IsoFit liner that is easily adapted to individual head shapes. This custom-like fit evenly distributes pressure, mitigates impact and delivers unparalleled stability. Several helmet systems incorporating the SKYDEX IsoFit Helmet Protection System have already passed AR/PD 14-01 testing.

In addition to the positive armed forces feedback, OEMs have conducted internal evaluations showing the system’s potential to increase protection and reduce weight when integrated with ballistic helmet shells.
