The SMT Overload Protective Device (OLPD) is a UK MoD-approved system compliant with 2590-E-100-013. Fully configurable to support any electric winch, the OLPD ensures a consistent and safe load-based cutout. It is compatible with both electric and pneumatic brake winches and does not interfere with free-spool functionality. Suitable for integrated and demountable winches, diagnostic LEDs can be integrated with vehicle systems to support visible light, blackout, and infrared functionalities. The system’s functionality can be defined through calibration files selected during installation, but not user-configurable. Configurable CAN output allows for load estimates and maximum load displays via any CAN-based interface.
