Tactical and Armoured Vehicles for military units

SMT Defence knows the demands placed upon tactical and armoured vehicles and has been the supplier of numerous ones for elite military applications for over a decade. SMT Multi-Role Light Vehicle (MRLV)

The SMT Multi-Role Light Vehicle (MRLV) is a multi-purpose light vehicle based on the excellent INEOS Grenadier. Characteristics include:

  • A choice of single and double cabs
  • A choice of engines which will enable a multitude of power options and fuel options(Euro III-VI JP-8).
  • Improved brakes and suspension to improve on already class-leading cross-country ability.
  • Modular cargo carrying capacity – to enable changing of roles( Up to 2T carrying capacity).
  • The vehicle is UK  road legal.
  • Estimated vehicle range of 1000 miles(1500Km)*  utilising euro III/IV
  • Completely reworked electrics and electronic architecture to meet current GVA.
  • IR lighting fitted as standard, road lights and crew compartment, giving excellent blackout capability.

SMT HUMS Powered by Squarcle

This advanced HUMS system utilises AI data analysis to provide operators and commanders with a view of the vehicle availability. It can be fitted during vehicle production or retrofitted to existing platforms.

Overload Protective Device – Electric Winch

The SMT Overload Protective Device (OLPD) is a UK MoD-approved system compliant with 2590-E-100-013. Fully configurable to support any electric winch, the OLPD ensures a consistent and safe load-based cutout. It is compatible with both electric and pneumatic brake winches and does not interfere with free-spool functionality. Suitable for integrated and demountable winches, diagnostic LEDs can be integrated with vehicle systems to support visible light, blackout, and infrared functionalities. The system’s functionality can be defined through calibration files selected during installation, but not user-configurable. Configurable CAN output allows for load estimates and maximum load displays via any CAN-based interface.

Winch Overload Safety System

The SMT Overload Protection Device (OLPD) is an approved solution by the UK Ministry of Defence, adhering to the standards set by 2590-E-100-013. This versatile device is designed to work seamlessly with any electric winch, offering reliable and safe load-based cut-off functionality. It is compatible with winches that use both electric and pneumatic braking systems. The OLPD is suitable for both integrated and removable winch setups.

The system features diagnostic LEDs that can be integrated with vehicle systems, allowing for visible light, blackout, and infrared capabilities. Its functionality can be tailored through calibration files selected during installation, making sure the settings cannot be modified after.

In addition, the configurable CAN output facilitates load estimates and maximum load readings on any CAN-compatible interface. Patent protections are in place.

Fuel Filter / Transfer Pump

The SMT Fuel Filter is engineered to operate on both 12V and 24V systems, offering a reliable solution for transferring diesel fuel while simultaneously filtering and removing water. With an impressive flow rate of up to 36l per minute and an automatic priming feature, this device ensures efficient operation. Its robust and rugged casing is designed to endure even the most challenging environments.

Tailored to fit snugly into a jerry-can compartment, the Fuel Filter is easily transportable on a variety of military vehicles. The innovative hinge lid design provides convenient access to controls and fittings without needing to detach it from the vehicle when mounted sideways.

This system facilitates seamless fuel transfer between vehicles or enables refuelling from available sources during missions. It is perfectly suited for both military applications and overland adventure enthusiasts.

Unmanned systems and autonomous vehicles for commercial and defence use

Thanks to SMT’s modular designs for autonomous unmanned vehicles, almost any vehicle supplied can be readily converted to a remote-control or autonomous platform. Their fully integrated systems enable engine start, gear choice, headlight, handbrake and other functions to be controlled easily and through a single way.
