Raytheon and Rheinmetall announced their teaming agreement in March 2018 and the award represents the first joint procurement project under the partnership.

Of the total number of units to be supplied, 16 will be tractor trucks and 24 transport vehicles. Deliveries under the contract will begin in the first quarter of 2021.

In a statement, Rheinmetall said that the latest order ‘underscores the customer’s satisfaction with these tried-and-tested ‘military-off-the-shelf’ vehicles’.

The Swedish Armed Forces has already awarded a contract for the delivery of other HX vehicle variants for its logistics corps.
