Saab and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) have signed a new framework agreement for the Carl-Gustaf weapon system ammunition procurement.

Under the deal, FMV will be able to acquire every kind of combat and training ammunition available for the weapon system according to the requirements of the Swedish Armed Forces.

The current framework agreement allows the Swedish government agency to purchase ammunition for a minimum of three years with a potential four-year extension.

Saab Dynamics Business Area head Görgen Johansson said: “This framework agreement is a testimony to the fact that we can work together with the customer to find the most beneficial ways of supplying the Swedish Armed Forces with the ammunition they require.”

In service since 1948, the Carl-Gustaf is a multi-purpose weapon system that has been supporting dismounted infantry across the globe handle a complete range of battlefield challenges.

Versatility and reliability of the ammunition portfolio is a major component of the weapon system. It includes anti-armour, anti-structure, anti-personnel, smoke, illumination, and training rounds.
