Developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, the Spike missile system is claimed to be the most appropriate for the operational requirements of the Latvian Army.

Designed to complement the existing stockpile of the National Armed Forces’ existing armament, the Spike anti-tank missiles will help improve combat capability of the regular units of the army, in addition to the country’s National Guard.

“Missiles can be operated remotely by combat crew from areas beyond the enemy’s reach, while fully in control of fired missiles at all times.”

Once delivered, the missile systems will also be integrated on to combat vehicle reconnaissance (CVR) or CVR-tracked units, which have been acquired from the UK.

Equipped with fourth and fifth-generation electro-optical missile systems, the modern Spike anti-tank missile systems are capable of delivering high precision and high lethality against a wide range of targets, including the advanced main battle tanks (MBTs).
