Engility has secured a position on the US Department of Defense’s (DoD) Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) $8bn contract for developing chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRNE) defence systems.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract covers the research and development of services related to CBRNE defence systems and equipment to the DoD.

The JPEO-CBD is responsible for managing and directing CBRNE defence systems from development through deployment and sustainment.

It is tasked with preventing adversary CBRNE weapon employment, identifying threats and hazards, and taking proactive measures.

The contract has a ten-year base period and an option to extend the term by five years.

Engility is already serving the DoD on other contracts including the joint enterprise omnibus professional engineering and technical support (JE-OPETS) and joint enterprise contracted logistics and service support (JE-CLaSS).
