Further undisclosed and pending orders will take the total above the 250,000 mark in the near future.
The NSPA framework contract, which allows streamlined purchasing for NATO member states and partner nations, has included Galvion’s Batlskin Caiman head system since December 2022.
To qualify for inclusion in the NSPA procurement framework, the helmet system underwent comprehensive user trials under close supervision by the NSPA standards authority.
Galvion CEO Todd Stirtzinger said: “Our primary goal at Galvion is to empower the missions of operators around the world. As a team, we are incredibly proud to see so many of our head systems fielded across NATO, whether through the NSPA framework or other official programme contracts, and we look forward to supplying existing and new customers through additional orders.”

By GlobalDataIn response to this high demand, Galvion has expanded its manufacturing capability in Europe by opening a new production hub in Gdansk, Poland.
The facility employs more than 70 specialists and handles helmet assembly and finishing, as well as support activities such as maintenance, refurbishment, upgrades, and training.
Alongside this investment, Galvion has established a production partnership with a UK-based manufacturer to further address programme and customer requirements within the region.
“We have invested heavily in an expanded global production footprint and are continuously evaluating opportunities to support our growing NATO and wider EU customer base. Our regional production strategy strengthens supply chain resilience and ensures that our European and NATO customers have reliable access to our best-in-class equipment, when and where they need it,” Todd Stirtzinger added.
The Batlskin Caiman helmet is available in five different sizes and features the company’s latest APEX lining system, which can be adjusted to achieve a customised fit for each user.
This lining enhances stability for visual augmentation devices and is designed to support the integration of electronics, communication headsets, and other equipment required for current and future operational needs.
In July 2025, the Canadian Department of National Defence placed a second follow-on order for 5,000 Batlskin Caiman helmets from Galvion.
Galvion also reported receiving orders totalling 35,000 head systems from customers in the Middle East during the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
