The DenfenCell vehicle barrier system has been successfully tested by the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory, stopping a 7.5t truck, distributors J&S Franklin says.

The DefenCell is a cellular, rapidly deployable barrier system up to 10 times lighter than comparable barriers, meaning it can be transported and set up by one person and is non-metallic with no cages or hinges, eliminating the risk of secondary shrapnel or communication interference.

J&S Franklin spokesman Jeremy Milton says the barrier is ideal for the protection of public buildings because it is very strong and is quick and easy to deploy.

“The same system can be deployed in a wide variety of roles including flood barriers, force protection, construction and can be filled with locally available materials such as sand or earth,” Milton says.
