Thales UK and Boeing Defence UK have been selected as preferred bidders by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the role of System of Systems Integrator for the Future Rapid Effect System (FRES) programme.

The FRES programme will provide the British army with a family of medium-weight, network-enabled, air-deployable armoured vehicles to meet up to 16 battle space roles.

Thales UK CEO Alex Dorrian says the two companies are “absolutely committed” to the success of the FRES programme.

“We are ready to build upon the rapid decision made by the MoD to drive forward with pace to the successful delivery of the programme,” he says.
