ViaSat is to provide Globecomm Systems Inc (GSI) with a modem designed to integrate advanced commercial satellite networking and information assurance into an integrated IP network for use in the US Army’s Joint Internet Protcol Modem (JIPM) programme.
GSI is the prime contractor for the JIPM programme for the Defence Information Systems Agency.
