The US Army has extended its contract with BAE Systems to provide digital night-vision goggles, which enhance the wearer’s situational awareness.
The enhanced night-vision goggles (ENVG) enable soldiers to view targets, even in obscured visibility environments, through a monocular eyepiece by digitally merging visible, low-light and infrared imagery.

The goggles also produce digitalised data that can be distributed across the battlefield thereby improving warfighter situational awareness, BAE officials said.
The contract extension valued at $5.1m includes production of five digital ENVG goggles in 2010.
