Military vehicles manufacturer for the Turkish Armed Forces Otokar has presented its new mine-protected armoured vehicle called Kaya at Defence & Security Exhibition International 2009 in London.

The specifically designed mine-resistant vehicle provides mine and ballistic protection for the troops on all terrain conditions, while offering high mobility, outstanding crew comfort and ease of handling, as well as high levels of cross-country capability.

Kaya can carry a crew of 12 and has an equipped weapon station. It has successfully performed mine resistance tests to Nato standards.

The company also displayed the Cobra armoured vehicle, a multipurpose armoured platform in a modular structure with several variants designed for several missions.

The Cobra, which is in duty across the world in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf region features a monocoque v-shaped armoured body to protect against mines and explosive devices.
